Background

With the development to internationalization and diversification, how to ensure the security of informationization systems which keep the enterprise running normally becomes more and more important because it is inevitable to suffer from the negatives sides of network, such as system collapse, business interruption, data loss, etc. Thus it has been a big challenge for large enterprises.

Requirement

DIHON has two offices which locate in Shanghai and Kunming and it boasts several servers on Windows, including SQL Server, Oracle Server, Exchange Server, File Server, Web Server, Tencent Server, Finance Server, DHCP Server and Domain Server. All these critical data needs to be protected and in many circumstances, data in Kunming needs to be backed up to Shanghai for centralized management and maintenance. The detailed conditions are as follows:

  • Headquarter (Kunming): File Server, Tencent Server, Domain Controller, DHCP Server, Finance Server, 2 SQL Servers, 1 Oracle Server, 1 Exchange Server.
  • Branch (Shanghai): 3 File Servers, 1 Oracle Server.

Deployment

  • Install Media Server in Shanghai
  • Install Windows Client on servers to be backed up in Kunming and Shanghai
  • Add corresponding license key (Server System Backup Agent, Windows Server Backup Agent, SQL Server Backup Agent, Oracle Backup Agent, Exchange Server Backup Agent) and authorize appointed client to perform backup and restore for file, system, SQL Server, Oracle and Exchange Server.
  • Add Advanced Open File Backup Option and Server Remote Synchronization Option to ensure remote backup and restore for data, system and database in Kunming and Shanghai

Result:

Critical data of File Server, Tencent Server, Domain Controller, DHCP Server, Finance Server, SQL Servers, Oracle Server, Exchange Server server in Kunming is backed up to servers in Shanghai by remote DR solution of EISOO, thus remote backup and restore for file data, database data and operating system is easily achieved.
